"Baby" cries...

For an entire generation he will always be Johnny Castle, the wonderful dance teacher from “Dirty Dancing” whose hip movements could seduce any girl...

After just 57 years, Patrick Swayze has left the dance floor of life, after a 20-month struggle during which he fought his illness with the determination that has characterized him throughout his career.

Before he became an idol, Patrick Swayze was, above all, a dancer. He danced in several Disney-parades and starred in a number of musical comedies such as "Staying Alive" and "Grease".

In 1985 he lands his first part in the historical TV series “North and South”. 2 years later, after the enormous success of “Dirty Dancing”, which turned him into an instant sex symbol, he is nominated for the Golden Globes. He composed and sung one of the songs on the soundtrack, “She’s like the Wind.” He later moved us to tears in “Ghost” with Demi Moore, made us think in “City of Joy,” and tremble to the rhythm of the lapping waves in “Point Break” beside Keanu Reeves. He had a cameo in “Dirty Dancing 2” and also starred in movies such as "Outsiders", "Youngblood", "Road House", "The Player", "Donnie Darko" and "11:14". Only a few weeks ago, he appeared on the TV series “The Beast” despite his illness.

When his death was announced, many stars reacted. “Patrick was a cowboy with a heart of gold. I’ll always remember the moments I spent in his arms,” said Jennifer Grey, his partner in “Dirty Dancing.”

One of his most inspiring quotes was: “To me, winning the battle means never giving up”. What better way to sum op this amazing actor, dancer, singer, man and artist?
